I used to have a friend’s friend that I sat next to in second grade that I found extremely weird. I never liked her because in the bathrooms, she would look under the stalls while people were peeing. But what was more unnerving was that I somehow came to the conclusion that she was some sort of psychic.

In second grade, I never talked. I sorta just hung around people who considered me their friend in school, but then I could be myself with my friends in my neighborhood. So lunch conversations were usually me listening while everyone talked.

What convinced me of the psychic-ness is whenever I saw a movie the night before, EVERY SINGLE TIME that girl would bring it up in the conversation. Even if it was pretty old! I even made note of it one day. I thought to myself “I wonder if she’ll bring it up.” And sure enough, she did. This might have to do with the fact that I also found her a bit creepy because of the bathroom thing and her wide eyes.

As an awkwardly social person, I’ve always wanted to read people’s mind. People can be so “fake” to quiet people. Even if they’re trying to be nice, I always found it demeaning: like they’re talking down to me. I’ve always wanted to see if they just secretly hate me. Plus a part of me is just nosy. I want to know what is going on. In fifth grade, we would have bathroom breaks after recess and I would just wash my hands for the longest time to hear the latest gossip. But then I thought, if others had mind reading powers, I’d be so screwed.

Why am I bringing this up now? Well, if you haven’t noticed, I’ve recently gotten back into Yu-Gi-Oh! I haven’t really had anyone to talk to about it really… or so I thought. Apparently my other online friends happened to get into it too! How is that possible? Three of us. At the same time. Getting involved in an extremely old series made for little kids we used to love. Is it fate? Did we all think the same thing, so I had someone to d-d-d-d d-d-d-d-d-duel?

A certain game which I don’t want to spoil so it will go unnamed brings up a very interesting concept called the morphogenetic field. A way we supposedly communicate through telepathy without knowing. For example, if we were to look at a picture and only one person knew the real answer as to what it is, this information would somehow transcend to everyone else. I don’t want to go too much into detail for the sake of the game, but I know what I mean and that’s all that matters.

I can’t be the only one that finds these coincidences weird right? It’s not only those instances, but it has happened other times too. I should put this as a story concept one day.
